Finish your music.

A desktop app designed for music producers who want to turn their disorganised libraries into clear songs, thoughtful album experiences, and actual releases. No cloud. No subscription.

Roam Studio - three-pane song organizer showing unassigned files, organised songs, and albums

Your entire library in one view. Unassigned files on the left, organised songs in the centre, albums on the right. A DAW-style timeline allows you to trial album sequences without much back and forth into your file system.

Does this sound familiar -

  • 200 project folders. No idea what’s in half of them.
  • Renders scattered across three drives and a desktop folder called "final_final_100_DONE."
  • Projects you haven’t opened in months because you forgot what state they were in.
  • You drive ahead with an older version, forgetting previous progress on another version of the same project.
  • Missing samples - that track from last year won’t even open anymore.
  • You sit down to make music but spend the first hour trying to find where you left off.

It might seem like a motivation or skill problem, but it's very likely a structure problem.

Organise. Listen. Build.

Three workflows that take you from scattered files to finished releases.

01

Song Organizer - the cockpit

Three-pane view: unassigned files on the left, organised songs in the centre, albums on the right. Drag-and-drop between all panes so you can quickly make sense of a previously scattered library.

  • Status tracking (draft → in progress → done)
  • Optional ratings, custom tags, freeform notes (not mandatory)
  • Bulk operations: assign, tag, archive multiple items
  • Built-in audio playback for every render

02

Album Builder

Designed to reduce friction and intuitively find what works together well. Inspired by LogSeq's tagging system, you are encouraged to tag each song, render or als and complementary material will emerge organically, helping you build immersive album experiences and not waste previous efforts lost in your library.

  • Album-level metadata and preview showcase
  • Smart suggestions based on tags and ratings
  • DAW-style timeline to aid creative sequencing of tracks

From chaos to clarity.

01

Scan

Point Roam at any folder. It finds every .als file and render recursively. Nothing moves. Nothing changes.

02

Organise

Drag related projects and renders into Songs. One song = multiple .als files + bounces + notes, held together.

03

Track progress

Status, ratings, tags, production checklists. Come back and refine as your sense of each project evolves.

04

Build albums

Pull songs into collections. See what's close to done. Shape a release from the work you've already made.

Built for the way your brain actually works.

Built by a producer with ADHD, for producers with ADHD. Your creative process isn't linear - so your organisation tool shouldn't demand that it is. This is a system borne out of trial, error, and years being unable to finish things - it works.

Start anywhere.

No setup wizard. No mandatory tagging. Just scan and start grouping when you're ready.

Low-friction decisions.

Quick tags and drag-to-group instead of elaborate folder hierarchies.

Visible progress.

See what's taking shape and what needs attention - without opening every project to remember where you left off.

No judgement.

300 unfinished projects isn't a failure. It's raw material. Roam helps you see what's in there.

Your music stays on your machine.

No accounts. No cloud. No subscriptions.

Local data

All data in local SQLite - your library index lives next to your projects.

Works offline

No internet required. Works offline. Works forever.

No telemetry

No tracking. No analytics in the app. Just your music.

Perpetual license

Buy once, own it. No subscription to keep your data accessible.

FAQ

Do I need to reorganise everything first?

Roam is designed for messy, sprawling libraries. We ask that you simply put all of your project files into one folder, and renders into another - we will do the rest, and index everything in an intuitive way. Once you begin within the app, everything is handled for you.

Will it damage my project files?

No. We are read-only by default. While the app is perfectly safe, backups are recommended.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything stays local. No cloud, no telemetry, no network requirements.

Does it work with my DAW?

Currently, the app is compatible with most DAWs, requiring only that the user puts all projects in one folder, and renders in another as .mp3 or .wav

What about Windows?

macOS only at launch. Windows is on the roadmap.

What stage is the app at?

Core features are complete. We're refining the experience with a small group before wider release.

You have 7000k projects and no albums or tracks to share.
