Background

I've been lucky enough to work with many startups over my 11+ years of experience - across healthcare, AI, blockchain, education, and SaaS. I specialise in the messy middle - where MVPs need to become real products and teams need technical direction.

Former university lecturer in web development at UCC (MSc level). I'm currently pursuing the AIGP (AI Governance Professional) certification, so I can better align clients with incoming AI regulations in the EU.

I work primarily with startups and SMEs building AI products that need to ship and stay compliant. Architecture decisions, compliance engineering, and hands-on development - from GDPR and EU AI Act readiness to production deployment.

How I work

I usually embed with your team, join your standups, review your PRs, and stay until the work is done. The goal is always to leave your team stronger than I found it - with better architecture, clearer processes, and the confidence to own what we built together. It's important for me that there is a shared understanding in each deliverable, leading to better outcomes for your business and consumers.

Most of my engagements are 2-3 days a week over 3-6 months. Long enough to make a real impact, structured so you're not paying for a full-time hire when you need a part-time one.
