Healthcare platform2024

CommPAL

Founding Engineer, Privacy & Compliance, UI/UX.

Cross-region healthcare platform with AI triage, patient tracking, and privacy-aware operational workflows.

Situation and work

CommPAL brings together clinical operations, care coordination, and AI-assisted triage in a product that has to balance speed, reliability, and careful data handling.

As founding engineer, I worked across product design, systems architecture, frontend and backend delivery, data pipelines, and privacy and compliance decisions. The work had to connect day-to-day healthcare workflows with the lifecycle and documentation expectations surrounding SaMD-oriented software.

Outcomes and evidence

  • Established a multi-region platform foundation for healthcare operations
  • Built an AI-assisted triage and patient-tracking pipeline
  • Connected architecture, data handling, and compliance decisions within the product roadmap

Digital Health2023

MyUSE

Lead Developer, Privacy & Compliance, Product Design.

MyUse is a privacy-first web and mobile platform for university drug harm-reduction, combining accessible UX & structured content.

Situation and work

MyUSE was built to support real student needs while handling sensitive subject matter, accessibility requirements, university stakeholders, and privacy expectations. I worked with a team of psychologists to translate those constraints into product and technical decisions.

I led architecture, implementation, stakeholder collaboration, user research, and production rollout for several large university audiences. The project has continued to grow at myuse.ie.

This work was documented within several publications, including published research on the accessibility design and implementation work where I am listed as second author.

Outcomes and evidence

  • Distributed to 5,000+ users
  • Implemented privacy-by-design architecture and data-lifecycle planning
  • Delivered the product across web and mobile
  • Published accessibility design and implementation work as second author
  • Used focus groups, usability testing, and A/B testing to inform delivery

Meeting workflow SaaS2021

QuickMinutes

Full-Stack Developer.

Zoom-integrated SaaS product for meeting agendas, scheduling, structured notes, and follow-up action tracking.

Situation and work

QuickMinutes is a meeting management tool focused on reducing friction around meetings by connecting planning, live collaboration, and post-meeting accountability in one workflow.

The build required product-minded implementation across integrations, interface logic, backend systems, and overall platform cohesion.

Outcomes and evidence

  • Zoom-connected workflows
  • Agenda and action tracking
  • Integrated scheduling experience

Audio and embedded systems2022

Rocudo

Tech Lead, Full-Stack Developer.

Rocudo provides cross-platform mobile and embedded software for pro audio, broadcast, and consumer devices, with a strong focus on native integrations and device-level performance.

Situation and work

This work involved product experiences that sit close to hardware, where responsiveness and reliability matter as much as interface design. Most products were music-related, such as music production tools, audio recording, and live performance software.

The stack often leaned on native audio frameworks, browser audio APIs, and platform-specific implementation details across multiple environments - in particular iOS, Web Audio, and Core Audio.

Outcomes and evidence

  • Native audio integrations
  • Consumer and professional device support
  • Production-ready mobile tooling

Assistive technology apps2020

AudioRhoon

Lead iOS Developer.

Developed Bluetooth-connected assistive technology applications for respiratory and speech therapy devices, covering delivery, deployment, and ongoing product support. I managed a range of 10+ apps, each presenting a game used by people with a wide range of disabilities to increase their quality of life.

Situation and work

The products sit at the intersection of software, connected devices, and music-making.

I would liaise with UI/UX teams to develop assets, and ensure the suite was aligned with recent App Store / iOS release guidelines - this meant paying close attention to stability, pairing flows, release management, and the hardware device itself.

Scope

Outcomes and evidence

  • 500+ user distribution
  • Device-connected mobile apps
  • Reliable App Store releases

Protocol and blockchain2019

Wagerr

Contributor & Feature Designer.

Contributed to the C++ blockchain core for a decentralised sports betting protocol, including product feature design and protocol-level implementation support.

Situation and work

This work required supporting design and implementation of low-level "contract" metadata which would be contained within each transaction - the data was converted to binary and attached to a part of the blockchain transaction (this was a PIVX, early Bitcoin codebase fork). These metadata would include dense data packets, which would be processed by an Oracle node and validated by the network. The Oracle node would then generate a "reward" transaction, which would be used to distribute the rewards to the network participants.

The contribution focused on making complex technical systems more usable without losing sight of the fundamentals underneath them.

Scope

Outcomes and evidence

  • Core protocol contributions
  • Feature design support
  • Production blockchain collaboration

Personal project2025

Roam Studio

Product Designer / Creator.

Platform for managing and curating music production projects - Roam Studio is a DAW-agnostic, multi-platform music production tool designed for personal use, to assist in organising, producing, and finishing your own music projects.

Situation and work

The idea emerged during the process of recovering past musical projects from various hard drives. I noticed how many were unfinished, but still had lots of potential. I needed a tool to help me organise and finish these projects, which often had disorganised file structures, poor versioning, and a lack of clear project management.

With the help of AI tooling, I was able to design a user experience that complements disorganised creative workflows and allows producers to actually finish projects, move forward, and easily create album experiences from their existing material.

Scope

UI systemsProduct engineeringInterface designStripeMarketingUXElectron

Outcomes and evidence

  • Finish incomplete audio projects
  • Revive old, dead projects
  • Organise poor versioning systems into actual projects
